One of Punta Verde Zoo Park's main objectives is to teach the public to establish a new kind of relationship with nature, giving visitors the chance to acquire and develop an interest in the conservation of habitats by seeing, for themselves, species from different latitudes, thereby overturning preconceptions about zoos as places of suffering.

By visiting our Zoo Park you can see some 200 species of mammals, birds and reptiles in a very interesting environment whose botanical qualities alone would be good reason for a visit.

Our Zoo Park supports several breeding and conservation programmes in favour of threatened species, EEP.

For years our Zoo Park has co-operated with the Italian forestry service's CITES unit, giving expert support and taking in animals seized during CITES's operations.

We also co-operate with Udine University's Department of Animal Breeding Science, carrying out food digestibility tests on the brown bears (Ursus arctos) in our Park.
